These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Quitslip ("the Service"), a digital receipt platform operated from Ontario, Canada. By using Quitslip, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
We've written these in plain English on purpose. We want you to actually understand what you're agreeing to.
The short version: be honest, don't abuse the service, and we'll treat you fairly in return.
As a Quitslip merchant you agree to:
Quitslip is not a payment processor. We do not handle money on your behalf. All payments are processed by Square; Quitslip only reads transaction data to generate receipts.
As a Quitslip customer (someone who receives or saves receipts), you agree to:
Customers can use Quitslip to view a receipt without creating an account. No registration is required to tap an NFC sticker and view your receipt.
You may not use Quitslip to:
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, with or without prior notice depending on the severity.
Quitslip is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. While we work hard to keep the service reliable, we cannot guarantee 100% uptime or error-free operation.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Quitslip's total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100 CAD, whichever is greater.
We are not liable for:
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, death, or personal injury caused by negligence, as these limitations are not permitted by law.
Quitslip currently operates a free pilot program for merchants. Paid plans (Starter and Pro) will be introduced in the future with advance notice to existing merchants.
When paid plans launch:
You can stop using Quitslip and delete your account at any time from your account settings. We will permanently delete your data as described in our Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, commit fraud, or if we discontinue the Service. In the event we shut down Quitslip, we will provide at least 60 days notice to merchants so you can export your data.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we'll notify merchants by email at least 14 days in advance. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the new Terms.
Minor changes (typo fixes, clarifications that don't affect your rights) may be made without notice.
If you have questions about these Terms, contact us at noah@quitslip.com.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Ontario unless otherwise agreed.
